なおこうした行動は、海中で魚が集まって移動するのと同じ現象だという。魚の場合には“ベイトボール（Bait ball）”と呼ばれており、サメなどの捕食者が近づくとまとまって素早く動き、攻撃を回避する。

ちなみにあるユーザーが「トナカイは何に対して脅威を抱いているのかな？」と質問すると、投稿主は「恐らくドローンだと思う」と答えている。
