キャサリン皇太子妃と会った感激に涙を流しながら、このように語った。

「私は、彼女と一緒に花とコーギーを置きに行きました。彼女は『どこにお花を置いたら良いと思う？』と言ったので、私は『そこに置きましょう』と言いました。」

エリザベスちゃんが皇太子妃と歩く姿を見守ったヒル校長は、「彼女は大変感激し、自分が選ばれた喜びで涙を流していました。本当に素晴らしい機会でした」と話した。

そして「女王の死は、若い世代にも影響を与えました」と言い、子供達が女王の死をどのように受け止めているかを述べた。

「年配の世代は女王のことを長く知っていますが、女王の長い即位期間を経験していない若い子供達も、女王の死に大きく心が動かされました。子供達は本当に女王の人生と遺産に敬意を払っており、彼女を決して忘れないためにベストを尽くしたいのです。」

ヒル校長によると、当日は子供達が手作りしたパディントンベアも供えたが、ウィリアム皇太子夫妻はその存在に気付いてくれたという。

「ぬいぐるみには、我が校の制服と同じロゴをプリントしたバッジが付いていたんです。おふたりは、そのことについてコメントしてくれました。」

この日ウィリアム皇太子は群衆と会話した際、先日女王の葬列でヘンリー王子と歩いたことを回想し、「母ダイアナの葬儀を思い出して、とても辛かった」と話していた。
