トラがムハンマドさんの黒い靴を噛んで遊んでいる様子が映っていた。

ムハンマドさんがどうやって囲いの中に入ったのかは明らかになっていないが、バハーワルプル当局のザヒール・アンワル氏（Zaheer Anwar）はこのように述べている。

「これまでの調査からして、これは良識のある人間の行動ではないように見えます。普通なら囲いの中に飛び込みませんよね。囲いは頑丈に作られていますが、その裏手にはハシゴがあり、そこから囲いの中に飛び込んだのかもしれません。」

また、パキスタンの救急サービス「Rescue 1122」の職員であるザファルラさん（Zafarullah）によると、遺体は死亡してから数時間ほど経っていたようだが、ムハンマドさんがその場所にいつ侵入したのかについては分かっていないという。

同動物園は調査の結果が出るまで一時閉鎖されることとなり、今後は園内に監視カメラを増設する予定とのことだ。
