エリザベス女王の孫であるウィリアム王子も公式ツイッター「The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge」で追悼メッセージを送った。

「安倍晋三元首相が亡くなられたことを知り、深い悲しみに暮れています。彼は真の政治家であり、献身的な指導者です。私が2015年に来日した際、彼が差し伸べてくれた温かさと寛容さを忘れることはないでしょう。」

王子は最後に「ご家族と日本のみなさまに心からお悔やみ申し上げます」と述べ、自身の頭文字である「W」の署名を記した。

ウィリアム王子は2015年2月26日から3月1日まで初来日し、滞在中には福島県郡山市の老舗旅館で行われた夕食会に出席した。当日はお揃いの浴衣を着た王子と安倍氏が、カメラに向かって微笑むツーショットが撮影されていた。
